FAQ

What’s the story behind the name?

The DAI˚ALOGUE was founded in 2020 by Emma Dai; this moniker is the marriage of her surname and her desire to tell stories and spark conversations (in addition to her love of wordplay). You can read more in-depth about the nomenclature process in the inaugural editor’s letter here

Can I be a part of it?

Absolutely—The DAI˚ALOGUE is a community first and foremost, and we are always looking for contributors to help broaden our horizons. Submit a story here or get in touch with us here; we’ll discuss your idea and appropriate compensation for your work.

What type of submissions do you accept?

The world is so wide that we’re wary of naming specifics—we are open-minded to any ideas you may have for how we can expand our content. It could be through writing, photography, performance, poetry, finger painting, sign language, time travel; you name it. The only thing we ask is that your work is informed and considerate.

What symbolism is there in the ideogram logo?

The ideogram is a stylised version of the Chinese character 戴 (Dài), our namesake, inspired by traditional Chinese symbols for fortune and prosperity, as well as ancient coins, Japanese mon and Eastern Asian emblems and family culture. You can read more about the design elements here.

Where are you based?

In the true spirit of the digital nomad cliché, we are based wherever the story takes us—although, a less romantic answer would reveal that we’re registered as a business in London, United Kingdom.

Do you work via sponsorships?

The DAI˚ALOGUE is proudly banner-free—instead, we’ll occasionally partner with other brands and small businesses that share our values and message, collaborating on stories and projects that offer mutual benefit and compensation. Get in touch to discuss how we can work together.
